Monthly Favorites

december monthly favorites wearing desire reading beauty

On My Mind
Dang, I cannot believe that my last Monthly Favorites post started off talking about the election... boy does that feel like a lifetime ago. Anyway, one thing that I've really been enjoying these past couple of months is knitting. It is truly one of the biggest stress-busters I've ever tried, and not to mention it is the most gratifying feeling to be able to finish a project and say, "hey, I made that!" That said, I have so many projects for various people in my life and not enough hours in the day! There's no way I can finish what I had in mind for Christmas, so hopefully people won't mind getting gifts spontaneously throughout the year ;P

Okay so The Boy in the Striped Pajamas never happened because it was due back at the library and to be quite frank I was too lazy check it back out. But now I'm reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. My best friend gifted me this book for my birthday- she knows me too well! I love anything mystery/crime-related so I'm excited for winter break to come so I can dive right into this book. :)

I know it's not the most exciting thing, but can I say my parka?! My Marmot parka, as recently seen in this post, is seriously the smooshiest and comfiest thing I've ever worn. Not to mention, ain't nobody got time for cold breezes freezing your torso so the length of this coat is perfect to keep my midsection warm. I know the price point is a little steep, but if you wait for spring fashion to start coming into stores you could get it on major sale like I did! I'm pretty sure I only spent ~$90 on it last winter. I'm such a proponent of high-quality winter outerwear cause being cold is seriously the worst, so investing in a warm coat once is always worth it!

I've been dying to try out Tarte's highlight and contour palette. The highlight shades don't look overly-sparkly, and the contour powder is matte, just the way I like it. Besides that, I've been enjoying using my everyday favorites, such as this L'OrĂ©al Telescopic mascara.

Super festive Christmas party outfits! These H&M pants are so cool, and would look awesome paired with an OTS top. Also on my wish list? Dresses in unique prints, and a metallic pair of oxfords. Would a Christmas gift guide for both men and women be something that you would like to see soon on Blanc Mode? Let me know in the comments section of this post!
