My Monthly Favorites

my monthly favorites

On My Mind
I just came to the realization that by the time summer is over, I'll have packed about 10 suitcases! Isn't that crazy?! So far, I've traveled to Bethany Beach and Jerusalem. Soon, I'll be going to Boston, possibly Pennsylvania, Bethany Beach again, Michigan, Chicago, Armenia, probably Georgia (the country 😉), then New Jersey. It just hit me all at once how much more than usual I'll be traveling this summer, and I feel so grateful! Each experience, particularly in different countries, teaches me something new about myself, other people, and other cultures. Here's to a fun and enlightening summer with family and good friends!

As I mentioned in my last monthly favorites post, I'm currently reading "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" series. I read the first book, and am now onto the second one. It really has been an excellent read so far, so I definitely recommend the books to those of you who enjoy reading something with a little mystery, crime, and thrill!

I finally bought myself a pair of Adidas Superstars. I used to wear them as a kid, but with light pink stripes instead of black. It's kind of nostalgic to be wearing them again, so thank goodness for old trends coming back around! I also just bought some J.Crew chino shorts in both navy and khaki. My previous pair had a 3" inseam, but they started to feel a little too short on me recently so I replaced it with a couple of 4" chinos. I think I tend to be a tad more conservative than other women my age (20-somethings), but at least I know shorts of this length will last me awhile!

Although not the most exciting beauty product, I think it's pretty fitting/important to mention my favorite sunscreen for the summer. I recently tried out this Alba sunscreen at the beach, and loved how it rubbed in so easily! A lot of natural sunscreens take forever to rub in because of the zinc oxide, thus leaving your skin white for what seems like forever. It wasn't too oily on my face either, which is always a plus. :)

The other day, I went to the mall and probably searched for a choker for a solid couple of hours. Again with the 90's vibes, but I clearly just can't seem to get enough. I'm loving this one from Urban Outfitters. They also had a metallic gold one in stores that I may just go back for... 😈 I've also been loving sleeveless blazers recently, as evidenced by a couple of the most recent pins on my Pinterest inspiration board. I am yet to find a specific one that I'm after, but you can bet I'll be searching!
