A Day In The Life

....Of a stressed-out, over-worked, college senior. You thought this was gonna be something glamorous didn't you? ;) I digress. I wanted to start incorporating more "lifestyle" posts into the blog, so here goes nothing! I hope you enjoy this little sneak-peak into my not-so-glamorous life, featuring last Saturday (the 23rd)!

Ah, Saturday morning. Although I didn't document my typical Monday-Friday week, this day just so happened to be quite the busy one! So here's a little snippet of my sanctuary- yes, I shamelessly cuddle with my teddy, and yes, I can get crafty sometimes (as evidenced by the wreath on the wall).

I wear these sheepskin moccasins all year round, regardless of how hot it may be outside. And boy do they give me SO much more inventive to crawl out of bed each morning! S/o to my boyfriend for updating my old pair to these during Christmas. PS- laces removed for practicality/prevention of insanity reasons- it had gotten to the point that I had to re-tie them twice a day so I just said to heck with laces! (super B.A., I know)

Daily routine- peep outside to check the weather before picking out my #ootd. This particular day was not looking too sunny, but I guess we deserved it after a gorgeous week of it pretty much being perfect weather. Does dressing for rainy, humid, or gloomy weather stump you as much as it stumps me? It's a constant battle between rainboots and it potentially not raining, or loafers and the inevitable downpour. Murphy's Law, amiright?!

Time to get some studying done (as previously mentioned: "stressed-out, over-worked, college senior")! Finals are upon us, and although it'll be my last round as an undergrad, I can't let senioritis get the best of me. Particularly since I hope to continue on to grad school in the near future, so ain't nobody got time to get lazy before another 6-8 years of school 😎

Today's outfit details: my fave Daniel Wellington, and Armenian flag colors before the Armenian Genocide candlelight vigil in front of the White House. April 24th was the 101 anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and each year we hold protests to demand recognition of this tragic event, and vigils to remember the lives lost. Read more about this event herehere, and here.

At the candlelight vigil- it was quite an emotional experience hearing Armenians from the community tell stories of their great-grandparents or other relatives who survived the Genocide. Despite this tragedy, we were all able to unite and feel comforted simply knowing that we were surrounded by hundreds of our brothers and sisters who understood each other, without having to say a word.

After an emotionally-driven, schoolwork-heavy day, it's time to plop onto the couch and do some more work! I was too cozy at this point to drive to the library or a coffeeshop to get work done, so I created the coffeeshop vibes by preparing myself a big, warm mug of tea. :)

Of course the one day I chose to document was rather saddening, but I feel like any regular day of running errands and doing schoolwork would not have been worth writing about.  Would you like to see more "life" posts like this one in the future?

Thanks so much for reading, all!

Xo, Sophia
