Tuxedo Dress: Part 1

Nasty Gal tuxedo dress / Marc by Marc Jacobs bag / Nordstrom BP pumps (super similarsimilar) / Catbird rings / Bash and Bow NY bangles / Thrifted necklace

Hello loves! I hope you enjoy this two-part series (here's Part 2!) featuring this gorgeous tuxedo dress. And yes, this is my second post (here's the first) in one week that's tuxedo related... I'll just proclaim my love for this style right here and right now. ;)

In case you haven't noticed, I'm such a jeans girl. With the exception of shorts (which are almost always denim!), most of my outfit posts have featured skinny jeans. After struggling to put a non-jeans outfit together for a nice occasion recently, I've since been on quite the extensive hunt for dresses/jumpsuits which embody my personal style (i.e. "borrowed-from-the-boys pieces). This tuxedo dress definitely fit the bill.

Here I've styled it with minimal jewelry and accessories, as to not distract from the elegance of the dress. I love the drapey twill material, double-breasted buttons, and the satiny lapels are most definitely what gives this dress its elegance. However, I think one could totally rock it with loafers for a more casual look. I also imagine the crossover silhouette being suuuper flattering on all body shapes!

What do you think of the tuxedo dress? Is this a look you'd try?

Thank you so much for reading, and enjoy the rest of your week! Xoxo

PS: Please excuse my unruly hair- the wind was definitely not forgiving today!
