Happy Tuesday my loves! Today post is all about the boyfriend short. If you're anything like me, skinny jeans have been your pant of choice since like, ever. When I got my first pair of boyfriend jeans in the fall, I was ecstatic with the level of comfort and its cool, laid-back look, but had no clue how to style them! I was worried that they only look good on women who are very tall and thin (I may be on the thin side, but I'm most definitely not tall!). After compiling some inspirational fashion photos on Pinterest, I finally decided to give the boyfriend jean look a try.

For me, the perfect outfit with boyfriend jeans/shorts is all about balance. I don't typically wear fitted shirts, as I prefer flowier ones. In order to not look like you're drowning in loose bottoms and a top, you have to show skin by way of either unbuttoned buttons, cuffed shorts hems, a little bit of collarbone action, or all of the above.

For my first outfit, I unbuttoned a couple of buttons so my bralet could peek out. For my second outfit, I highlighted my collarbones by pushing my hair back, and pulling my shirt sleeves down a tad. I definitely rolled my shorts' cuffs up a couple times for both outfits, and they are still a fairly conservative length for summer!

Another way to work the boyfriend shorts look is to accentuate your waistline by tucking in your blouse (as seen in both of my outfits as well). I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to non-boyfriend shorts after trying these two pairs- the length is so perfect (you can walk up the stairs without having to tug your shorts down for coverage!), and they are much comfier on a hot day than tight bottoms. Have I convinced you to buy a pair yet? ;)
